The Japanese give priority to the classic kumikata for a quite simple reason: It offers most possibilities of attacking.
Why the judo became so defensive? It is certainly due to the size of judogis. A too much tightened judogi is more difficult to catch.With the come back of judogis less stiff and less stuck on the body, the judo will be more offensive.

The way judogis are more and more difficult to use, is very disturbing. Judogis are more and more tightened which is inappropriate to the practice of the judo!

This tendency is very serious. The judo, it’s this specific art of grabbing the jacket to throw his(her) opponent.

With unfit jackets to this practice, even those who aren’t familiar of this culture are driven to an offensive judo, with seizures directly on the body. The game with the opponent’s judogi, is the science of the judo … Then change the judogi, which means the rule  of competition, it’is a way of killing the judo. »
